I was hoping you'd be at the Guild Show this year, Larry.
But your parent child weekend on July 28th is right in the middle of the July 26thru July 29 Guild Show dates.
Maybe next year you can make it back to the Guild Show...
Take Care,

Hi Larry,
I hope your Parent Child Weekend was very successful! Some information would be appreciated...I know for sure you are committed to educating youngsters regarding knifemaking....and admire that!
The Guild Show was also...
Good crowd of folks thru on both Friday and Saturday.....
Hate to admit it but I wasn't there on Sunday for the seminars and cutting competition....Hope someone who was....Gayle, or Warren or Eugene, or.... will add to this thread....
See ya in 2008 hopefully!

i hate i had to no be at the guild show this yr
i,ll be there in 08!!!!
only 2 days of sells??why??
i think if the guild wants to sponser seminars it should do it some other time than the guild show
wish i could have been at the business meeting
next yr the youth seminar will be some time right after the blade show i hope.
that is if they dont encroach even further into the guilds calender yr
in the past the blade show was in may
and there was plenty of time between the blade and guild shows
i think thats one thing thats hurting th guild show the worse
just on one will say so or brace the BLADE to try and change it.
i still have to ok everything with the powers that be in the ABS
it would really be neat if i could get some guild members here then to help teach finishing!!!!
i envited some guild members to my hammerin this past yr but they were too busy!!:(
no matter what anybody says the left and right hand wash each other
i wish the guild and abs worked closer togather.
mabey one day!!

Hi Larry,
Boy oh boy, you all got a good writeup about your "work" (labor of love) with the kids at French Camp Academy in the latest issue of Knives Illustrated!
Congratulations!
If I had some leather backs/sides and maybe some tooling tools that might be used by your folks with the kids, who should I call, what is a phone number?
Most of it is 8-9 oz. tooling leather, some is lighter.... It is from a local leather company (Landwerlen Leather) that has been here since there were no "horseless carriages"....so old that the ceilings ar 20-25 feet tall and the storage cellar has a dirt floor...
It's good stuff and if taught well, the kids would have some fine material to work with..... Shoot, probably some fine leather toolers would like it....
I don't know how to say how much I have to give you....I know roughly what I have "invested" in it...so it must be good tooling leather....
Cruddy business stuff: The only thing I ask is that maybe someone sends a note or less, not thank-you, saying received "x" pounds of leather, etc. I assume that FCA is a non-profit, or 501C3 or something..... If the note isn't possible, OK, I still need to know if y'all want it for the kids.....
And maybe some tooling tools.....if'n I can git them found and together...
Let me know.
Thanks,
John Fraps
