The Guild show cutting competition will be held at 2:pm on Sunday.
This event will be produced by BladeSports International INC which is a new non profit corporation specifically designed to promote the using knives , knives as art , education & to produce cutting competitions all over the country.
Because we incorporate both makers & non knifemakers , this will be an open event but only to those cutters who have been certified by the ICCT or BladeSports. If you have not been certified you will not be permitted to compete.Certification can be attained in two ways.
1 ) Attend a cutting school
2 ) arrange a practice day with a certified instructor.
This event will be a timed coarse event that involves 12 consecutive cuts which will be set up on five individual benches. The contestant will start on the first 2x4 where his time wil begin. He will then continue down one side of the benches having to cut or attempt to cut all the set cuts . he will go around the end to continue up the other side of the benches where he will finish with the 2nd 2x4 where the time will stop when the 2x4 is completely severed. he will be given 100 seconds added to his time. The value of each cut will be gatheres & tallied. The total points will be deducted from the time for a final score. The lowest score will be declared the winner.
This is a very exciting event, so please try to attend.
I will be out of the country till the 11th of july so please contact either Daniel Winkler of Gayle Bradley for any othe info.
Thanks & see you at the bench
