A traditional nordic style knife.
I'll be hosting Kay Vikstrom at my shop again this fall. We have dates and everything finalized for Sept 13-16. Four days total. The class is located in SE Minnesota. I'll expand this list later.
Cost: $150 and you leave with a complete knife.
Lodging: two decent motels within a 1/2 mile or so and camping can be had on my place. There's trout in the river but it's been drier and down lately. Good air connection to Minneapolis and my shop is a 30 minute drive south and east.
Class size is limited and I've had an on-again, off-again waiting list. Right now there are spaces open.
Plan: forging, grinding day one, heat treatment and finishing up day one on day two, then leather work including decorative pouting and fine needle stitching and finishing up the rest on the last two days. No previous experience is needed. You could come for three days or two if you got your work done ahead of time I suppose.
