I had not been to the Guild forum in quite some time but was spending some time reading the newsletters available at the 2008 Knifemakers' Guild Show in Orlando a month ago and decided to check out the forum and the Virtual Gallery etc.

We had a fun time at the show and acquired some additional knives and at that time had posted a review of the show into the CKCA www.customknifecollectorsassociation.com Forums > Reviews where hopefully you will enjoy an opportunity to see around 150 images from the various activities of the Guild show.

While in the Review section, you might also want to look at the review of Blade 2008, AG Russells Event as well as the HammerIn at Troy, Ohio the latter 2 taking place shortly after Guild.

As a representative of CKCA I hope I did not miss you and take the chance to both drop off a flyer but have a bit of verbal discussion re the CKCA and its goals regarding knives and knifemaking/collecting. We also got flyers into the hands of many Honorary members and some have become CKCA members also.

Please take the time to look around the CKCA site and come back and hopefully join.

In the future, we plan to have a page devoted to the past winners of the WW Cronk Award with photos and hopefully info about the knife that won and how it was created etc. Plans will also be to do something similar with the Peck Award and WF Moran award winning knives.

Actually, any one that has info about the Cronk award and might have photos of any of the winning knives, please contact me as I'm in the beginning stages of preparing this effort.

Hope you enjoy the photos of the show and perhaps some will respond here as it is only thru continued postings that a forum will be successful.

Murray,

Thanks so much for your hard work and wonderful photos of our 2008 Knifemakers' Guild Show. You really captured some great moments and on behalf of the entire Knifemakers' Guild, I thank you for sharing them, not only on our site, but on the CKCA and Blade Forums. I hope to see you in Louisville next year!

Sincerely,
Gil
