Knifemaker Scott Slobodian very ill

I have learned that Scott Slobodian is seriously ill. Linda spoke with Barbara yesterday and found out that Scott has had what appears to be a staph related menengitis. After 2 days in the San Andreas hospital, Scott was medivaced to Stockton where he underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Scott was in ICU for 1 1/2 weeks fighting to survive. Barbara told Linda that Scott was released last Tuesday, first going to a convelecent home and then going to his own home. Barbara said the recovery is very slow but improving slightly everyday. He will have to go to the hospital in San Andreas every day for IV medications for the next three weeks. Linda did speak briefly with Scott and she said his humor is still there but he sounded very weak. It will be a very long time befor he can return to his shop. Both Scott and Barbara need our prayers at this time

That is sad news! We hope that Scott can recover soon and send best wishes and prayers for his recovery and a great New Year.

I'm late coming into this, but I heard from Scott that he was ill a couple of months ago when I emailed him about getting together on a work trip I had in Sacramento. I corresponded with him in email last week and he said he is doing much better, but he will be missing the NY show. I was very concerned for his health, I am glad he seems to be recovering well now.
