Just thought I'd say hi to you all. I love making knives and the leather to match and mainly I'm interested in learning more about this great hobby. At least I call it that because it is for me. I'm a retired Railroad Engineer and I now work as manager of a Pro Shop at a Country Club here in Palestine, Tx.

Thanks........I have made about 70 to 100 knives (mainly I just put stag handles on blanks) and I've sold about that number. I don't know if I'll get into forging blades, really don't have the time. I'm a Professional artist also and I put a lot of time into painting and gourd art.
Welcome to knifemaking and to the Guild rembrandt. Sounds like you'll do just fine in knives, talent, interest, drive and time and a pretty ice fellow, it seems. Glad to have you here!

Thanks to the above. I have been making knives for a few years but doing it with no knowledge of how its done. I have learned quite a lot of late and the last knife I made was the best I've done. Sold it for $100.00 and now I'm eager to learn and make some that are quality. Just bought a new Delta 180 1"X42" sander and I've got polishers, grinders and vices so I'm pretty much set up to turn out some nice knives. I think my folders and fixed blades without the crown will improve also. Looking forward to showing some on here. By the way, I just finished the deck on my new knife workshop and will post photos on here as soon as I can.
