Hand working 440-c

Hi im very new to this, i have been working with a bench grinder, files and sanding and polishing by hand. Would i be able too work 440-c in this fashon or is there anouther steel i should be working with? So far i have been working with files and saw blades. Thank you for the help.

Yes you can work 440-C in this way You will have to watch your heat after heat treating Stones on a bench grinde have a tendaceny to get to hot I suggest that you make the investment in a belt grindeg
