I notice that the Firewalls mentioned are both pay for firewall. Actually, there are a lot of freeware products available for Firewalls, Anti Virus scanners and Spyware Cleaners.

If a user has XP as an Operating System (O/S) then the built in Firewall (one way) is actually quite sufficient particularly if the user also has a router and many users do due to the fact that many households and businesses either have multiple computers or have WiFi for their laptops.

As far as Anti Virus scanners, there are 4 main ones that are freeware and they are -- AVG Free, AVira, Avast and Rising.

For spyware cleaning, I'd recommend using Spywareblaster, SpyBot Search and Destroy, Adaware 2008.

There really is no need to purchase security products when many companies offer legitimate freeware products for the computer user.
