It is with great sorrow that I report to you that George Herron died early this morning . Will post arangements when I receive them.

What a great man, a great knifemaker and a great friend! We are all better for having known George. Only good can come to mind when I think of George Herron. Our prayers go out to his wonderful wife and family. One of the great things about knives and the Guild is the opportunity to meet such wonderful folks. I'm better for having known him.

What a great loss to the knifemaking community. I first met George at the old Birmingham show in the early 80's. He was such a great gentleman & I always looked foward to seeing him at the Guild & Blade shows. He always had time to visit my table & never forgot my name. I have only ever bought 2 knives from makers. One was from George, & the other from Corbit Sigmon. So sad they are both now gone.
